POTE offers scholarships for musicians ranging from $250-$500. Do you know a student that plays violin, viola, cello or bass? If so, he or she may be eligible for an award. Preference will be given to students in kindergarten through high school.Schools or individuals may apply for funds by contacting POTE president, Elaine Wolf. Submissions are due by June of each year.

The Bushnell Musical Explorers program has partnered with Carnegie Hall Weill Music Institute to expand instruction in Hartford and surrounding towns. POTE has agreed to support this outreach program.

POTE $50,000 commitment to Bushnell Explorers is realized.

It is with great sadness that we report the passing of our founder, Christopher J. Wolf. One of Chris' proudest achievements was the establishment of the POTE Foundation which was established to provide educational support and resources to youth.
The POTE board approves Elaine Wolf as President.

POTE provides funding to start a Suzuki violin program at the International Magnet School in South Windsor.
The New Britain Summer Music Workshop receives a grant from POTE.
March 2015
In 2008 the POTE FOUNDATION funded free violin lessons to the kindergarten students at the North School in Windsor Locks. Due to the overwhelming support of parents and the community the Board of Education has agreed to expand the program to include more students. This was the goal of the POTE Foundation. The POTE board members will begin a new search for a school to support.
February 2015
POTE is excited to annouce that the 2015 POTE Cup (golf tournament) will be held on June 15 at the Shuttle Meadow Country Club in Kensington. Kent Scully will chair the event and Dick Thivierge will be co-chair and share in the responsibilities.

POTE Board approves 2015 Golf Tournament and agrees to share proceeds with First Tee of CT.

December 2014
The 2014 Annual Meeting date has been set for January 13, 2015. A general review of 2014, including financial and program topics, will be reviewed. An update of the scheduled POTE Golf Tournament will be discussed including the field size, venue, fees and budget.
August 2014
The POTE Board welcomes back Richard W. Thivierge, a founding member, back to the Board after a short absence. Dick has also graciously accepted a co-chair position to help Kent Scully with the 2015 POTE Tournament.
July 2014
At the Semi-Annual Board Meeting, the stage was set to have a 2015 POTE Cup Golf Tournament. Kent M. Scully was asked to chair the event and to include his long-time charity, First Tee of CT, to share the proceeds.
February 2014
The North Street School violin program, in Windsor Locks, was highlighted in a WFSB Cool Schools segment on February 21st. POTE Foundation initiated the early-childhood music program and has provided funding for the school's cost free violin program for pre-k and kindergarten youth since 2008. Congratulations to North Street School and thanks to WFSB for the recognition.

With 2014 comes the eighth year of the POTE education effort. Over $100,000 has been committed to youth education during the last seven years and 2014 looks like an exciting continuation of this effort. Thanks to all that participated in program development and the critical funding process.
